"This questing beast"
I've often described myself as someone who looks for animals that do not wish to be found. Between the overwhelming bugs, miserable weather, difficult terrain, and secretive nature of reptiles and amphibians it is nothing short of maddening. So why bother looking for them?
In the pursuit of these animals I have hoped to make my mind keen and body strong. I've had experiences along the way like no other and made life long companions. I'm happy to say I've seen my fair share of these animals too! Now I think it is time I share these experiences.
So to really answer that question I'll let famous salamander biologist Emmett Reid Dunn tell you. "Places and happenings, people and animals, winds at sea and mountains, and all that I remember, it was no unpleasant path I trod when I followed this questing beast." There is no other life than this that I could imagine.
